Our project includes photography and volunteer work. In my opinion photography is art and can be . put into many things and events. Typically, many photographers use professional cameras with lens and other things. They can also use their phone cameras and it still does the same job basically. We most likely will be using our phone to take the pictures. We are also volunteering our time for this project. We are going to be working with elementary after school programs for this project.

Q and A

Our mentor is Ms. Doherty. She is a RSP teacher and is in Gen ED.

1) How she can help our project?

  A: She has had experience with working with organizations and dealing with projects.

2) Do you have any skills with photography?

  A: She said no but we are the ones who are gonna be taking the photos.

Our project is being a little delayed because we have no place to help at the moment. We are currently looking for a place to help.

Update

Here is our process with the project. We have gotten tripods from borrowing and we have gotten some suggestions for how to print the photos. We ran into a big obstacle. The next door solutions didn't want to help us with this project because they didn't want us to endanger or put the women at risk. We think its fine because we will respect their decision. We have decided to head to a different path and look for an Easter event in San Jose because there we will be able to take photos of families with their permission of course. so far this is how our project is going so far.

Project Proposal

March 24th

A capstone project is basically you picking the topic of the project but it has to help someone out. We picked to take pictures of the women from the Next Door organization. My goal is to hopefully brighten up the ladies day because I know that the women have gone through. Ms.Doherty helped us pick this project idea and she told me her experience helping this organization. I decided on this because I want to make the women smile while I’m learning more about photography. I’m going to reach my goals for this project by being organized with the things we need for this project. We have already emailed the organization, but they haven’t replied yet. We need to call them again and plan with the manager. Ms. Doherty is our mentor for this project has gave us ideas for equipment we can borrow from teachers or others. A problem we might face is them not replying to our email. We will have to go to their building in person and maybe ask them there. This is what our project contains so far.
